Look for love that shows up.
Attraction matters. So does how someone treats you over time.
Know what you are looking for
Write down the qualities that matter to your daily life: reliability, kindness, compatible expectations, respect for independence, or willingness to communicate. Leave room for delight without letting it erase your needs.
Notice patterns, not promises alone
Do their actions match what they say? Can you say no without being punished? Are questions and effort mutual? Record concrete observations rather than trying to infer a diagnosis from texts.
Ask instead of decoding
You can ask what someone is looking for, how they prefer to communicate, and whether they want to see you again. An answer you dislike can still bring useful clarity.
Choose your own boundaries
You do not need a clinical label to decide that a relationship is not working for you. Respect other people’s boundaries too, including requests for no contact. If you feel controlled or unsafe, seek individual support.
